Contemporary Pediatric Endocrinology
This textbook was recommended by our subspecialist in pediatric endocrinology as a text for general pediatric resident education. (He also recommends smaller textbooks, but for a comprehensive read, this is the one he bought for our program.)
I was surprised to find it very readable. It's well-organized, and written in a fashion that doesn't put me to sleep. Even if I were to find myself dozing off, occasionally I find little bits that make me wake up. Examples include the blurb about recent presidential elections in the first chapter about short stature and the mention of Mark McGwire's home runs in Chapter 39.
Overall a nice textbook, and I would purchase it except that it's beyond the scope of what a resident makes. For those that know me, it's on my Amazon Wishlist. . .
